Champaign, Illinois
Office Representing: Enrollment Management
As the associate provost for enrollment management, Dan Mann is responsible for campus efforts related to recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation of undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. How did you first get interested in or involved in higher education issues?
"Early in my career, I became involved in the state financial aid association, the Illinois Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (ILASFAA), serving on and chairing committees designed to improve the policies and operations of the state financial aid programs. The quickly expanded into involvement at the regional and national levels and addressing a number of policy and advocacy issues," Mann said.
Why did you apply to be a part of the Higher Education Committee of 50? What drew you to this opportunity?
"The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a leading public land-grant institution committed to addressing the grand challenges of our time, so there was strong institutional support for being part of a group committed to finding innovative, forward-thinking policy solutions to these important issues," Mann said. "Access and affordability have been issues that I have cared about and advocated for my entire professional career."
