How did you first get interested in or involved in higher education issues?

"I was a low-income, first-generation college student. I live a life that I could never have imagined for myself, and know that would have never been possible without educational opportunity. Higher education was so transformative for me that the minute I graduated from college, I knew my mission in life would be to pay it forward."

Why did you apply to be a part of the Higher Education Committee of 50? What drew you to this opportunity?

"I am deeply committed to creating greater access and educational opportunity for students in the next generation. The future of our nation's success lies in educational opportunity for all who seek it. It's not only my life's work, but it is deeply personal to me. I am determined to paving the way for others to have the opportunity I was given in higher education."
